About Paul Goodman

From the age of seven, I was brought up by my grandmother. Every couple of days she would take me to the local library, partly so she could get more books but mainly to meet and chat with her many friends. Old style social networking that left me free to enjoy the experience of the children’s library.

It was there that I first met the legendary stories of King Arthur and from then on I was destined to be a continuous and persistent reader of books. Once I had exhausted the children’s section, Nan gave me a couple of her tickets and I began to explore more grown-up novels. Edgar Rice Burroughs, Rider Haggard and later Robert Heinlien, E E Doc Smith and so many others, too many to list, all contributed to my love of books and the stories they tell us. These stories have the ability to transport us to different worlds, to make us laugh and to cry. Since my Nan first took that sulky child to the library, I doubt there has been a day when I haven’t been reading at least one novel.

I wanted to recognise the debt I owed to those first stories of King Arthur and his Knights but Excalibur in the Stone Publishing is something of a mouthful, hence ‘Exstone Publishing’.

Having taken early retirement from a career as a management consultant in the IT industry, with an emphasis on the management rather than the technical, I have begun to seriously write fiction. Having published the first three novels in The Morgana Chronicles and the first of my paranormal cosy mystery series, The Spectral Detective Agency, I am currently working on the second novel in that series alongside a couple of other projects.

On the personal side of things, I live on the south coast of England with my wife and son plus our crazy dog and two weapons of mass destruction some people call cats.
